Funny how life works. It's so hard not to prove to everyone around you that someone is lying about you or just plain false in general, especially when they succeeded in hurting you and attempt to harm your innocent children. God promises that all sins will be exposed and we aren't usually the ones that do the exposing.
We had the unfortunate experience of believing that we had a friendship with people who turned out to be exactly that, dishonest, false and harmful.
We moved on, both physically and mentally, stopped trying to convince others of the truth and learned a very hard lesson about trusting too quickly.
Now, with no input from us, years later, those same people have been showing their true colors to those around them. No, I don't feel happy or eager to get involved but it is good to know that eventually everyone will know that the lies told about us really were lies.
It's also a good reminder that everything we do matters because even if you think you got away with something, God knows better.
