The dangerous "warnings" Against Loving Our Family "Too Much"

 I have heard many Christians "warn" others against loving our spouse or child "too much". The idea is that,because we are to love god above all else, loving our spouse with a thoroughly enthraling love or focusing our time on the children God gives is, is some sort of idol worship. We are admonished that considering our own children our primary  ministry makes us shallow and unspiritual. We are told that choosing family time over "church" time is idolatry.

 This horrible philosophy brings about a great deal of bondage and puts families and marriages at risk!
 For years his was a fear for me. Because I was afraid of loving my family too much I felt guilt for my joy and sadness seeped in to moments of contentment.
 The idea that we should ever try to love LESS is ridiculous and evil!! If you have more passion for your husband than for God,seek to become closer to God! DO NOT pull away from your spouse and attempt to temper your affections! The depth and passion that God gives us in a godly union is a wonderful revelation of His love for us and an excellent tutor for understanding how to love God.
 Look around you. Look in your churches, your neighborhoods,the grocery stores,malls,etc.. Can you honestly say that you have ever seen people destroyed because they have "too much" love??? Of course not! With as many divorces in the church as out of it the last thing people need to hear is that loving their spouses can be a dangerous and sinful thing!
 Love your spouse more ! Love them enough to die for them,to live with them and enjoy them! Love passionately and without reservation! In doing this you will have greater appreciation and understanding of the love of God and your love for Him will increase.
Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Relish your children! Never feel guilty for staying home with them, for protecting them or for saying "no" to things that will drain you of the energy that you need to devote to their training. Put them first above church activities and outside appointments. They have been given to you as treasures from God and their souls are your responsibility. This is not true of every human being but is ALWAYS true of your children!
 Yes,we must care for the people outside of our home. We must be willing to reach out and to give help where needed. Just remember that these ministries are no more important than the ministry of raising your child. If you do forget, someone else will be reaching out to your child some day. There is a reason why "preachers kids" are known to be the most rebellious people and "too much love" is NOT the reason!
It is God who gives passion and love. Honour Him by embracing it.
Titus 2:4 - That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
