This Week

This week has been a busy one.
Hubby and I have been enjoying some good discussions, study and music revolving around holiness and true Christianity. It has been a blessing.
We also enjoy each other very much :)
We are gearing up for school by reviewing the lessons that have been and should be learned. Isaiah will draw any unpleasantry out f...o...r..e...v...e...r if left to his own devices so we have started putting a time limit and timer on his work. It works miracles!!
We got to spend some time with my brother and family. It was great to have family over, talking, playing and eating together.
I did some gardening at Dad and Moms. The garden is doing great and I plan to take pictures next time I go over. We had dinner with Dad and Mom and the munchkins and I took a walk with Grandma.
My mom came over and spent the day yesterday. The kids are always excited to see her. :)
It' another ridiculously hot day today so I'm not turning the oven on today. I really NEED to make bread and WANT to make cookies but don't want our house to be hot. Instead, we settled on no-bake cookies and watching 'BUGS LIFE' on Bluray.
Hubby is off tomorrow, which we are all happy about. We'll probably spend some time shopping for the 4Th. and then at home, just loving each others company.

2 Peter 2:21

"For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them."
Galatians 4:9 ESV
"But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?"

life

So many ups and downs lately!
I had a great time talking with my brother and sister last night. They are so special to me and I love having them around! I am so sad to think of them moving far away and at the same time happy that they can chase their dreams.
My hubby's brother is moving close by, which would normally excite him very much, but every time he sees him now it breaks his heart to see him so completely lost.
The 4TH of July is coming up and there are a lot of fun things to do but it is yet another painful reminder of loss as another of my nephews birthdays comes and goes without being invited or even acknowledged as family. I think of them so often. Yet another holiday to play with my kids and keep my tears a secret.
I have so many keepsakes, pictures, cards, handmade items... each one has a memory and a feeling attached. Sometimes it's wonderful to look back; sometimes it's agonizing.
I am disappearing into myself at times. I just want to hide from the sadness, sin and pain that fills our family.
Today, we will spend some time at the in laws, working in the garden, looking at pictures and listening to the Smothers Brothers. I know these days will some day be precious memories for us and for our children.
I want my children to be surrounded by happiness, truth and godliness! I just wish it wasn't so difficult to accomplish sometimes.

Lecrae, TRUTH, With Lyrics

Watch Truth video!
.[Spoken:]
"Man, It's just some folks say, "All truth is relative, it just depends on what you believe." You know, "hey man, ain't no way to know for sure who God is or what's really true." But that means you believe your own statement; that there's no way to know what's really true. You're saying that that statement is true. You're killing yourself. If what's true for you is true for you and what's true for me is true for me, what if my truth says your's is a lie? Is it still true? Come on man! "

Delicious No-Knead Cinnamon Rolls

Yesterday I tried this recipe from Pioneer Woman and it was a great success! I did use 3 cups of whole wheat flour,in place of 4 cups of white, and stirred it into the liquid mixture 30 min. into the cooling time.
If you love big fluffy cinnamon rolls and dislike kneading bread as much as I do try this one!

Temporary satisfaction with your sin is not a 'blessing'.

I really really hate going to facebook and seeing people that used to proclaim Christianity use terms like 'blessed' when describing their sinful lifestyle. Using the term 'blessed' and saying things about your generic god does not fool anyone, especially God.
Jesus has given His all to save us from sin, how can anyone spit on such a gift?
It is sad beyond words.

Fathers Day

I had to have a bit of a cry today. 22 years and I still miss having my dad here to hug and to talk to. My dad was wonderful.

Love does not oppose godliness ~

Isn't it interesting that as soon as you start talking about hating sin and refusing to excuse wicked behavior liberal 'Christians' start throwing the words 'grace' and 'love' at you? They use them like some sort of defensive shield against conviction and holiness! It's sad because the reason we are supposed to hate sin is out of love for God and the lost! The point of grace is God's Divine strength and desire for righteousness! 'Grace' is not the same as mercy OR blindness. If you actually love someone, you will hate watching them destroy themselves and others. If you actually love Jesus, you will hate sin, not excuse it.

After reading about the life and beliefs of Calvin,I am SO an Arminian !

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me. John 12:32

1 John 2:2, "and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."

Romans 10:13; Revelation 22:17. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come, And whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely."

I Timothy 4:10. "For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe."

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." —Romans 5:8

1 Tim. 2:4-6:
"who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was borne at the proper time."

•"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

•For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; (1 Peter 3:18)

"Robert G. Farley gives an illustration which can be applied here: "The prospective mother prepares a complete and beautiful outfit for her expected child. But the child is still-born. Yet the outfit was prepared just the same as if it had lived. And Christ's work is completed as much for one man as for another, as much for the unbeliever as for the believer."

A Calvinist cannot go out into the world and tell the lost "Jesus died for you", they must say Jesus may have died for you, if you're lucky.

Gardening

Today I bought the straw for the garden and got my squash, tomatoes and peppers mulched. Everything looks so pretty surrounded by a bed of golden straw.
I am also doing container gardening this year. I have turned a couple of large plastic totes into planters for peppers and tomatoes. I really love the feeling of accomplishment that gardening brings!

Grown Ups

It turns out that some people never actually grow up. Yes, we all get old but 'old' does not automatically make one mature. I think it's because human beings are selfish and growing up takes work. We all start out thinking that we will just become mature and wise one day, as a reward for living to an older age. But, NO, that is not how it works. Often times the tattle tale, fit thrower and spoiled brat turn out to be just older versions of their juvenile selves. It takes a lot of work to grow into an unselfish, calm and meek person. Knowing this, I will never stop working at it.

To Be Or Not To Be~

William Shakespeare - To be, or not to be (from Hamlet 3/1)
To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
To die: to sleep No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action. - Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd

Nursing Pains

Noah and I both fell asleep while he was nursing and he clamped down and bit me, HARD. I don't think I've ever been bitten so bad! It's been 5 days now the bite has led to an infection and absolute agony when I nurse. I guess You know that you love your child when you sit there crying because of the pain but let them nurse anyway. Now I am on Lortab, which helps a lot but doesn't completely take the pain away. It also makes me light headed but I am still SO glad to have it!

Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words

Satan is always cunning. If we "conservatives" won't vote for a pro-death self admitted liberal we may just vote for a woman who's agenda is promoting the same feminism that leads to being a pro-death liberal, as long as she is a Republican.
