Life In May

My life is so full and so busy that I don't know how to blog about it. Either the days seem a bit too mundane to merit writing about them or so full that I forget to write.

This last month has been a very full and (mostly) good one. Rather than write a book about it I will make a list of memorable points.
My brilliant and ornery Judah tuned 3 years old on the 12th. He got sick right after he opened his gifts and threw up so we didn't have cake until the following night.
My hubby and I celebrated our 22nd. anniversary. We spent 8 hours out and about, just enjoying each others company.
We took our kids to their first ever drive-in movie at the Kinnopolis drive in. We watched Guardian's of the Galaxy 2. Hubby and the 2 middle kids laid outside, close to the screen, on a big comforter with blankets and pillows. Isaiah and Judah sat in the truck with me so that we wouldn't need to chase Judah around in the dark. It was a ton of fun!
Hubby and I painted our bedroom and hallway a nice bluish gray with bright white trim. We also converted a closet into an office nook and the office into a large walk in closet. It feels so nice to come into the room now!
We had a family day at the Discover Salina Naturally event. It was a very warm day and the activities were a ton of fun. Isaiah and Hubby did great at hatchet throwing and the little kids shot bows and arrows. We petted horses, saw and learned about an owl and Vulture up close, had good food, listened to great Blues and Jazz music, looked at nature and gardening exhibits, played in the playground and had an all around fun time together.
I have been having truly terrible back pain for about 10 days now.I don't know what started it but standing up is agonizing, as is almost every move I make. I think the constant pain has worn on my mind because I am so much more emotionally raw than usual. Our dear friend Edith has provided large tubs for me to soak in as a way to have relief from time to time. She is a true blessing.
We had a very large storm a few days ago. We were under tornado sirens 4 times but no tornado's touched down here. We do have trees and large limbs down all over town and ditches full of water but we escaped most of the damage that nearby towns have suffered.
I talked to my brother on the phone for the first time in months. We are both busy people and I miss hearing his voice more often. I always feel a bit happier after talking with him. :)
Before my back pain started I was getting pretty well caught up with my housework and settling into a nice routine. As of now every time I have to bend over to pick something up it's a torment and only the bare basics are getting done.
My 7 year old Noah has completed 94% of 2nd, grade math and 8% of 3rd grade. At this rate I think he may be using the same workbooks as his sister soon!
My sweet husband has been very diligent about working out. Since Emma wanted to go with him to the gym, but is too young, he has started getting her up early to go walking with him in the mornings. She has been excited to go each and every morning. :)
Well, other than housework, gardening, cooking, shopping, in-law drama, school time, play time, arguments, cuddles, the dog biting a neighbor... and the million other small things that make a day, that is it. Until next month, or next time.
