Thoughts of the day

It's been a pleasant week and today has been quiet. Isaiah has been playing outside with his Star wars toys, hubby's cuddling Noah and watching football. Emma is sitting with grandma, waiting for her to finish eating so she can cuddle. I've done some dishes and laundry but other than that and making fruit shakes for breakfast and nachos for lunch, I've had a slow day.
My sweet Noah is just so delicious that I don't want to put him down! He smiles at everyone and has a marvelous laugh. He rolls over,as of yesterday. He rolled onto his tummy last night and slept beautifully that way. He is an excellent sleeper; He sleeps 7-9 hours a night with just a little nursing in between, it's great! He's grown so much that he wears 6 month clothes already (at 10 weeks old),has mommy's forehead birthmark and daddy's coloring. He's a bundle of joy that is very catching. :)
Black Friday was tiring but a success. The kids will be happy this Christmas.
Hubby is still filling out apps. The job he has isn't giving many hours and we REALLY need to find a new one.
I was thinking of my brother on his birthday; wishing him well.
Life changes so drastically, so quickly, I am learning to enjoy the little moments as they come.

Best quote from Thelma and Louise

State Trooper: [Sobbing] Please! I have a wife and kids.
Thelma: Oh really, well, you're lucky. You be sweet to them,
especially your wife. My husband wasn't sweet to me.
Look how I
turned out.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
4 Let those who fear the LORD say:
"His love endures forever."
6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.
I will look in triumph on my enemies.
8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in man.
14 The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.

Something good

You can learn from anyone and find something good in most.
I have been thinking about the good things in people and happy memories. I am thankful for all of the good in my life! The good may be surrounded by darkness but cannot be completely lost in it.

Playing in the snow

Emma was so excited about the first snow. While Isaiah was working on his lessons we went out in the cold. :)

Emma says the snow is both good and beautiful.

Pomegranates

Today we learned about the Pomegranate. We had never eaten one and found them to be delicious and fascinating! Eating one led to learning nutritional facts, history, geography and Biblical relevance. It was a fun and simple lesson. ~
Just a few interesting facts:

Fight Breast Cancer
Israeli researchers found that pomegranate seed oil causes breast cancer cells to self-destruct, while leaving healthy cells unharmed.

Pomegranate juice may contain close to three times the antioxidants as green tea or red wine. Antioxidants fight against free radicals -- unstable molecules that can damage DNA and cell membranes. This cellular damage has been linked to all kinds of diseases including cancer.

It may help support healthy blood flow because of its iron properties. Pomegranate supports the blood by supplying it with iron, thus may help prevent anemia symptoms that include exhaustion, dizziness, weakness, and hear loss.

Aside from having lots of anti-oxidants, pomegranate also might have some anti-viral properties.

Exodus chapter 28:33-34 directed that images of pomegranates be woven onto the borders of Hebrew priestly robes. 1 Kings chapter 7:13-22 describes pomegrantes depicted in the temple King Solomon built in Jerusalem. Jewish tradition teaches that the pomegranate is a symbol for righteousness, because it is said to have 613 seeds which corresponds with the 613 mitzvot or commandments of the Torah. For this reason and others many Jews eat pomegranates on Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot.

* The Ancient Egyptians were buried with pomegranates. The Babylonians believed chewing the seeds before battle made them invincible

Aside from having lots of anti-oxidants, pomegranate also might have some anti-viral properties.

. Pomegranate juice and extract is thought by some women to help in overcoming the feeling of general malaise during menopause.

Song of Solomon 8:2 I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
