New School Year

I am trying to (kind-a sort-a) plan our school year. When it comes to planning, organizing and keeping to the plan of a homeschool year I am a miserable failure. I dont have complete records,a complete yearly goal or a really great plan.
I am trying to get better at this. I am working on organizing the school room. I bought a new printer and school supplies. I've started looking at blogs and curriculum sites. I'm making a favorites list of educational YouTube videos. I'm telling myself that I'm going to do much better this year and not to stress.
So far my plan is to  use http://www.aleks.com  math for Isaiah and http://allinonehomeschool.com for all of the children. I plan to focus a lot of time on helping the youngers with reading and on making school time more interactive. We use videos for most of our history and science and download all of the educational apps onto the iPads. life is learning so planning an education is planning life and everyone knows life cannot be fully planned.

Finding the balance between organized learning and educational play is an ongoing effort. I will continue to do my best to improve and expand my teaching and parenting.

I am also planning out my time. I never do much that way. I generally buy books to cover what we need then we finish them. The end.
But this year I feel like i have a child that greatly needs structure. So i am doing this for real this year. I am excited. only over whelmed in the idea of I haven't started buying anything yet....
I have tried in planning to make it easy to follow without rigidness. I need to follow as best i can but i also know i am not a highly scheduled person... My word is Rhythm. Not schedule. Hoping it works.
Our focuses this year are... Bible (study, Memorizing) Rome and the time of Jesus. And arts. In addition to the main subjects.
